I am a newbie mom hoping to share the trials, triumphs, and comedy that come along with having a kid. Now when I say “newbie mom” I truly mean that. I’ve talked to women who are worried about becoming a mom because they’ve never changed a diaper and I can’t help but laugh. Not only had I never changed a diaper before having my own son but I’d NEVER HELD A BABY before either (maybe my little brother but I can’t remember it and there aren’t pictures). I was not one of those people who loves babies and thinks they’re all cute and precious so I never had an interest in learning about their development or how to take care of them. I knew I’d figure it all out when I had kids of my own and now I am. I’m so happy I live in a time when I can google just about anything or call up my own mom for advice (most recently: are baby teeth supposed to have gaps between them?).
When I was pregnant I learned that many of my peers, or random people I ran into, have A LOT of questions about pregnancy, labor, and babies in general. At one point, when I was about 7 months pregnant, I was hanging out with a group of my friends who asked what it was like. I gave some remark about how the true nature of what it was like to be pregnant was so far beyond what would be considered acceptable to talk about that it was hard to answer that. They laughed and one of them said “You should start a blog called beyond tmi”. So here we are. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have, I’m not shy. Well, I am introverted but not shy about answering questions that might typically be considered TMI.
